We rescue cats and dogs from high-kill shelters and place them at families that match with the animals’ personalities. We are absolutely no-kill + cage-free rescue. We treat all the rescued animals as our pets. Medical care, high-end food, toys, companies, exercise, and warm beds are provided. If you want to adopt one but don’t like to see animals in cages or want the animal to get a good “start” healthwise, this is the right place for you.
The animals whom we focus on rescuing are:
- New born, sick, or/and orphan kittens and puppies
- Any cats and dogs who are in death row. (especially, black or old ones)
- Feral/semi-feral or shy cats
- Cats with medical/behavioral conditions (kidney disease, cancer, chronic URI , diabetes, inappropriate urination, aggression, antisocial etc)
Dogs and puppies here are socialized with other dogs, taken for walk 2-3 times a day on our 5.5 acre property, and taken to outside every 3 hours for doing “business.”
To people who were not approved to adopt a puppy/dog:
All applications are screened with the specific needs of each animal in mind. Factors we include in our decision are based on breed experience, specific challenges in training active breeds, the time commitment to devote to the puppies/dogs, long-term familial fit and optimal environments.
We are in dilemma that we are not placing animals as we hoped for due to our strict screening; however, our mission is to find the best possible homes for the animals in our care. Many of them have been through severe hardship, mistreatment or neglect, and that makes it even more important that we do our best for them. This means that we have to have guidelines because not every adopter is right for every animal. We sometimes have to say “no” to a potential adopter. Our animals do not have a say in where they go; since we speak for those who have no voice, we must do it well. Our rejection of an adoption application is no reflection on the adopter. Everyone who wants to adopt an animal from a shelter or rescue group is special because they open their homes to those in need. But, while we try to meet the needs of everyone, our clients are the animals. They have no one else.
